In 2001, I was a vice president of inventory management for a big box home center, and they announced that they would be going out of business. I thought that a similar job would be very hard to find, and I would probably have to relocate. I wanted to remain in southern California so I decided to give eBay a try. My business is exactly what people expect from an eBay store. I offer collectibles, specialty store finds and garage sale treasures... I will sell pretty much anything if I think people will be interested.
In addition to running my store, I also offer services as a Trading Assistant on eBay. I work with sellers to put together their eBay operation, or help them sell very rare and expensive items. I have many customers that have used my services on a regular basis over the last couple years.
eBay has afforded me an opportunity to be successful on my own terms by providing me a level playing field with the big guys. I can be competitive with price, and provide the very best customer service out there. At the same time, I can work wherever I want, and dictate my own schedule, while only dealing in items that I like. eBay is a community where I can find people who have the same goals and interests that I do. I am closer to my eBay buddies, than I ever was with my old work friends. I know I have created friendships that will last forever!
